I will go

on May 26, 2010

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a]

2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

Father God, here I bow at your feet in humble adoration of a creator who would chase after one single lost sheep who on it’s own decided to stray.  While millions more stay near and follow in obedience, you Lord decide to go after the one and often I ask myself why.  I used to think that Jesus didn’t chase after people who didnt want him, but in a sense he does.  He didn’t let me go all the years that refused to acknowledge him.  No, he came after me until my heart was won and ways were changed.  Praise be to you my heavenly father, all praises be to you.  Now you give me this calling, you give us this calling to spread the word. Now we get to be a part of your team, be tools you use in the chase.  What an honor it is when you realize what you’re being used for.  That I could return the favor you showed you me, by letting you use me to show another, to heal their broken heart.  the day is coming when it will be finished, your kingdom will be restored, until that day may I never tire of doing that to which I’m called.  Your power within me I will go.
